Editorial policy
Our editorial work aims to be clear about what is known, what is interpretation and what a reader can take from it. We write about film craft with curiosity, care and room for more than one reading.
Accuracy and context
We check factual details against suitable sources before publication and give readers enough context to understand the point being made. We do not present a personal reading of a film as the only possible interpretation. When a detail is uncertain or a technique varies between productions, we say so rather than smoothing away the distinction.
Independence and interests
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage. If a commercial relationship could reasonably affect how a piece is understood, we identify that relationship clearly. Paid or partner material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or a passage that needs clarification, contact us through the Contact page and point to the relevant article and detail. We review correction requests and, where a change is warranted, amend the text and make the correction clear in context.
Images and illustrations
Illustrations may be created or assisted with generative AI. Where that applies, we identify the image as an illustration rather than implying it is a documentary photograph or an image from a film production. We aim for visual material that supports the subject without misleading readers.
