Global Film Spotlight

Write for us

We welcome pitches that help readers notice how films are shaped, made and experienced. A strong contribution starts with a specific question and gives it a fresh, understandable answer.

What we welcome

Pitch clear, original work about film storytelling, camera, editing, sound, production design or the creative process around a film. Useful pieces might explain a technique, compare two approaches, untangle a common misconception or offer a considered way to plan a small creative exercise. Keep the scope focused and the reader in view.

What makes a good pitch

Tell us the working title, the central idea, why it would interest our readers and what makes your approach distinct. Include a short outline and relevant writing or filmmaking experience if you wish, but no credentials are required. Avoid pitches that rely on access you do not have, unsupported claims, promotional copy or advice that requires specialist equipment to be safe.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please wait for a response before sending a full draft. We may discuss changes to scope, structure or language before publication.
